義務役拍板延長至1年，「兵役」英文怎麼說？

總統蔡英文於日前拍板義務役從4個月恢復至1年方案。現行義務役期為4個月、替代役6個月，未來都將會延長為1年，民國112年公告滿一年，113年1月1日開始實施，將影響民國94年次役男，大家對兵役延長有什麼看法？「服兵役」英文又該怎麼說？快跟我們一起學起來！

約翰：你知道台灣義務兵役延長至一年嗎？

David: I don’t know. Tell me soon.
大衛：我不知道。快告訴我。

John: President Tsai Ing-wen announced the government’s decision on the extension of the current mandatory military service. The mandatory military service for males will be extended from four months to one year.
約翰：總統蔡英文宣布政府決定延長現行的義務役。男性義務役將從四個月延長至一年。

David: When does the new rule come into operation?
大衛：這個新規定何時生效？

John: The new rule will take effect at the start of 2024.
約翰：新規定將在2024年初生效。

David: Wow! It means that the new conscription period will apply to men born after 2005.
大衛：哇！這意味著新的徵兵制度將適用於2005年之後出生的男性。

John: That’s true.
約翰：沒錯。
