最近台灣進入梅雨季，午後雷陣雨、短時間強降雨、豪雨特報幾乎成了許多人每天都會遇到的生活日常。出門前不只要看行事曆，還要先看天氣預報：今天會不會下雨？會不會突然暴雨？通勤會不會塞車？鞋子會不會一出門就濕掉？這些看似普通的生活情境，其實都是很適合拿來學英文的素材。很多人提到下雨，只會說 “It’s raining.” ，但如果想更自然地描述今天的天氣多糟，就需要更多實用的天氣英文表達。今天，菁英就來幫同學整理出幾句與雨天相關的食用英文單字與用語，帶大家從日常生活中學英文！
梅雨季豪大雨席捲全台！台灣雨季還會持續多久？
以近期天氣預報來看，這波梅雨主要受到滯留鋒面與西南氣流影響，6 月 9 日到 6 月 10 日是雨勢較明顯的時段，西半部、山區與部分地區都有大雨或豪雨機率。之後雨勢有機會稍微趨緩，但整體天氣仍不算穩定，仍可能出現短暫陣雨、雷陣雨或局部較大雨勢。也就是說，這幾天的天氣不一定是「整天都下不停」，但很可能是「一陣一陣、突然變大、局部地區雨勢很強」。這也是梅雨季很典型的特色：有時候早上看起來還好，下午或傍晚卻突然下起大雨。
雨很大的英文說法
如果不想只是講簡單的「雨很大」，而想更進一步說明雨勢的狀態，例如「突然下暴雨」、「最近一直下雨」、「天氣預報說會下到週末」等，則可以這麼說：

如果只是一般下雨，可以說：
- It’s raining.
如果雨勢很大，可以說：
- It’s raining heavily.
如果是突然下起非常大的雨，可以說：
- There was a sudden downpour.
如果你想表達「最近幾乎每天都在下雨」，可以說：
- It’s been raining almost every day lately.
這些句子不只可以用在日常對話，也很常出現在新聞、天氣預報、社群貼文與英文口說情境中。
天氣預報的英文用語
新聞也是一個相當不錯的學英文管道，而如果同學平常有在收看或收聽天氣預報，氣象主播則可能會這麼說：
